Sound Bar Not Working
I had many problems synchronizing my sound system since I bought an LG Soundbar for my PC (Windows 11).
I finally solved the issue. The BK 929 U device was not the problem. The problem was my Samsung Monitor.
In the Monitor Menu, from the monitor itself, I discovered that if I toggle/switch the "Display Port Version" from 1.1 to 1.2, suddenly the monitor queries windows, gets a new device ID, EDID, and BANG!
Suddenly the sounds pipes through ALL THE WAY!
I would have never guessed this, but something deep in my technical brain, combined with all your advice at OREI, I decided to flip that menu item on the monitor.
The OREI BK 929 U splitter was innocent — it was the Samsung monitor’s DisplayPort connection that had stopped completing the EDID/HDMI-audio handshake with Windows.
Flipping DisplayPort Version forces the monitor to disconnect and renegotiate with Windows. Windows then receives a fresh EDID, redetects the audio-capable display path, and restores sound through the OREI to your S55TR soundbar.
That explains the whole pattern:
- Picture could remain perfectly normal.
- The soundbar and cabling could be working.
- Windows could suddenly “lose” the audio destination.
- Changing an apparently unrelated monitor setting immediately restored it.
So the reliable fix is now:
Samsung monitor menu → DisplayPort Version → switch versions → wait for Windows to redetect → reselect the output device if necessary.
I found a manual EDID reset switch hidden inside the monitor menu.
