What Is the HD-104?
The OREI HD-104 is a 10.2Gbps 1x4 HDMI splitter. It takes one HDMI source and duplicates the same audio/video signal to up to four HDMI displays at the same time.
The HDMI source connects to HDMI IN, and up to four TVs, monitors, projectors, or displays connect to HDMI OUT 1 through HDMI OUT 4.
The HD-104 supports HDMI 1.4 and HDCP 1.4, with video resolutions up to 4K@30Hz 4:4:4, 1080p@60Hz, 3D formats, HDR, Dolby Vision, EDID management, and HDMI audio pass-through. The manual’s application diagram shows a DVD or Blu-ray player connected to HDMI IN and multiple displays such as a TV, projector, and display connected to the HDMI outputs.
The HD-104 is useful for conference rooms, classrooms, lecture halls, trade shows, retail displays, restaurants, bars, bedrooms, living rooms, kitchens, outdoor spaces, and any setup where one HDMI source needs to be shown on up to four displays.
IMPORTANT — HD-104 Is a 1x4 HDMI Splitter
The HD-104 duplicates one HDMI source to four HDMI outputs.

This product mirrors one HDMI source. It does not create independent video outputs and does not extend a PC desktop across four screens.
IMPORTANT — Supports 4K@30Hz 4:4:4
The HD-104 supports video resolutions up to 4K@30Hz 4:4:4.
| Resolution / Feature | Support |
| 4K@30Hz 4:4:4 | Supported |
| 2K@30Hz 4:4:4 | Supported |
| 1080p@60Hz | Supported |
| 1080i | Supported |

| 480p / 480i | Supported |
| PC resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 | Supported |
| All HDMI 3D formats | Supported |
| HDR | Supported |
| Dolby Vision | Supported |
This model does not support 4K@60Hz. For 4K@60Hz distribution, use an HDMI 2.0 / 18Gbps splitter model.
IMPORTANT — HDMI 1.4 / HDCP 1.4
The HD-104 supports HDMI 1.4 and HDCP 1.4.
| Specification | Support |
| HDMI version | HDMI 1.4 |
| HDCP version | HDCP 1.4 |
| Video bandwidth | 10.2Gbps |
| Maximum resolution | 4K@30Hz 4:4:4 |
Make sure the HDMI source, displays, and protected content are compatible with HDCP 1.4.
IMPORTANT — This Product Does Not Downscale 4K to 1080p
The manual’s troubleshooting section states that the HD-104 does not downscale 4K to 1080p.
| Setup | Result |
| 4K source to 4K displays | Supported up to 4K@30Hz |
| 1080p source to 1080p displays | Supported |
| 4K source to 1080p display | May not display |
| Mixed 4K and 1080p displays | Set source to 1080p |
If a 1080p monitor does not display video from a 4K source, set the media source output resolution to 1080p.
IMPORTANT — EDID STD / TV Modes Are Included
The HD-104 has an EDID dial switch with STD and TV modes.
| EDID Mode | Function |
| STD | All HDMI OUT ports output default 1080p@60Hz, 2CH audio |
| TV | Copies HDMI OUT 1 EDID setting to all outputs |
Use EDID settings when there is no video, wrong resolution, audio compatibility issue, or mixed display problem.
IMPORTANT — TV EDID Mode Uses HDMI OUT 1
In TV mode, the HD-104 copies the EDID from HDMI OUT 1 and applies it to all outputs.
| Situation | Result |
| HDMI OUT 1 has valid EDID | OUT 1 EDID is copied to all outputs |
| HDMI OUT 1 EDID is not detected | Unit outputs default 1080p@60Hz, 2CH audio |
For best results, connect the main or most compatible display to HDMI OUT 1 when using TV EDID mode.
IMPORTANT — All Displays Show the Same Content
The HD-104 sends the same HDMI source to all connected displays.
| Display Behavior | Support |
| Same video on all displays | Supported |
| Same HDMI source on all outputs | Supported |
| Different content per display | Not supported |
| Independent display control | Not supported |
If a laptop or PC is connected, the splitter duplicates the screen. It does not create four separate extended monitors.
IMPORTANT — This Is Not an Audio Extractor
The HD-104 supports HDMI audio pass-through, but it does not provide separate audio output ports.
| Audio Feature | Support |
| HDMI audio pass-through | Supported |
| PCM 2.0 / 5.1 / 7.1CH | Supported |
| Dolby Digital / Plus / EX | Supported |
| Dolby TrueHD | Supported |
| DTS / DTS-HD Master Audio | Supported |
| DSD | Supported |
| Optical audio output | Not listed |
| Analog audio output | Not listed |
| ARC / eARC | Not listed |
If separate audio output is needed for speakers, amplifier, or soundbar, use an HDMI splitter with audio extraction or a dedicated HDMI audio extractor.

HDMI Cable Requirement — Critical
Use high-quality HDMI cables.
| Resolution | Recommended Maximum HDMI Cable Length |
| 4K@30Hz YCbCr 4:2:0 | 32ft / 10m |
| 1080p@60Hz | 50ft / 15m |
| General FAQ recommendation | Under 30ft |
The manual recommends using Premium High Speed HDMI cables.
Poor HDMI cables may cause:
- No video
- Flickering
- Black screen
- One output not working
- 4K not working
- HDR issues
- HDCP handshake issues
- Audio dropouts
For troubleshooting, test each HDMI cable directly between the source and display.
Power Requirement — Critical
The HD-104 uses a DC 5V/1A power adapter.
| Power Detail | Value |
| Power adapter input | AC 100–240V, 50/60Hz |
| Power adapter output | DC 5V/1A |
| Maximum power consumption | 2.8W |
| Power LED | Red when powered |
If the Power LED does not turn on, check the power adapter, outlet, and DC 5V connection.
Understanding STD EDID Mode
STD mode uses a default EDID setting.
Use STD mode when:
- You are using 1080p displays
- Some displays do not show video
- You want a stable 1080p stereo signal
- Mixed displays are causing handshake issues
- Audio compatibility problems occur
STD mode sets all HDMI outputs to 1080p@60Hz with 2-channel audio.
Understanding TV EDID Mode
TV mode copies EDID from HDMI OUT 1.
Use TV mode when:
- HDMI OUT 1 is the main display
- The source should follow the capability of the display connected to OUT 1
- All connected displays support the same format as OUT 1
- You want the source to output the best format supported by the main display
If a lower-resolution display is connected to another output, it may not show video if it cannot support the copied EDID format.
Understanding the Application Example
The application diagram shows one DVD or Blu-ray player connected to HDMI IN. The HD-104 then distributes the same signal to multiple display devices, including a TV, projector, and display.
This demonstrates the main use case: one HDMI source shown on up to four HDMI displays at the same time.
